Celebrating our 36th anniversary!

The Lorenzo Driving Competition is a 2 day event held on the scenic grounds of the Lorenzo State Historic Site. Overlooking beautiful Cazenovia Lake, approximately 100 horses and carriages compete in a variety of classes including ring work, obstacles and a cross country marathon. Since it's conception in 1977, the Lorenzo Driving Competition has been a first-rate display of pleasure driving attracting spectators and competitors from all over the northeast. Our objective is to promote community interest in and preserve the fine art of classical carriage driving and to promote tourism and cultural interest in our community. Admission is free and open to the public.

July 2011 marks the 35th anniversary of the Lorenzo Driving Competition! Join us for a festive weekend of friendly competition, shopping, entertainment and food. On Friday evening we will be featuring a Welcome Reception and a "Hats off to Lorenzo" Gala. Come donning a proper chapeau for our hat contest and enjoy free wine, beer and cheese. The competition also invites you to enjoy complimentary lamplit wagon ride provided by the Woodworth family, owners of Lamplit Farm. Following the Reception, a lavish spread of elegant Hors D'oeuvres will be served in the dining tent  (reservations required).

"Bluegrass, Beer & BBQ" will be Saturday evenings main event highlighting "The Lost Boys," a local bluegrass band.  Come prepared to taste some exceptional beer and eat some old fashioned barbecue.  For reservations please contact Sue Woltman at 315-655-5496 or email us at LorenzoDriving@hotmail.com.
