Dear Friends and Competitors of
The 2011 Lorenzo Driving Competition,

Thirty five years!! As we approach July 16 and 17,we are especially proud of the continuity of an outstanding tradition of people, ponies, VSEs, and horses who all contribute to the joyful atmosphere of a splendid weekend among friends and spectators. The weather was kind to us last year and we hope it will repeat the kindness in 2011.

We are delighted to have Dede Bushneck and Steve Holm judging this year, Micki Bowen will return as TD, and Dot Billington as agreed to repeat as Obstacle Course Designer. An enlarged and energized Show Committee is hard at work ensuring that the excitement reflected in last year’s energy and enthusiasm will repeat and grow this year. Ride and Drive and Carriage Dog will precede and follow lunch on Sunday again. Friday night’s Welcome Reception and Hats Off to Lorenzo! Gala will include a tribute to our 35 years of continued showing success. Many of you joined in the fun last year and we look forward to your participation again this year. The traditional Saturday night barbecue has been expanded to “Bluegrass, Brew & BBQ”. It will feature a favorite local bluegrass band, The Lost Boys, as well as beer tasting. By now most of you have received an email, kindly sent by Susie Koos Aker of ADS, concerning a modest increase in our fee structure this year. This was done only after long deliberation by The Show Committee of last year’s financials to ensure LDC’s future years – hopefully, another thirty five years. Additionally we will appeal to you for consideration of donations and sponsorships.

For the first time, the prize list has been offered on line and we hope that you have found this to be convenient. If you know of someone that cannot download the entry forms, please email me at mollypew1@yahoo.com or call (610) 850-1183. We hope that you are happy with this new arrangement. Most shows are moving into the digital age.

The excitement is already in the air, and we can’t wait to see you again at Lorenzo 2011!
