Dear Exhibitors,
Last year at this time, we approached Lorenzo 2007 in fear and trepidation with little experience with how it would all pull together. Miraculously, and with a lot of help and counsel from Phil Ferro, and Jack and Sue Voss, it did come together. We had glorious weather, and everyone appeared to enjoy the weekend. Director Barbara Bartlett of Lorenzo State Historic Site and her entire office and maintenance staff were superb
We approach Lorenzo 2008 knowing a bit more about what needs to be done, and when we need to do it. The prize list will be mailed earlier this year, and we hope that entries will also be received earlier, since that makes the job of getting names into the Program easier and not under stress at the last minute.
Our judges this year are Dana Bright and Anne Councill, Mickie Bowen is our TD, and Dot Billington has agreed to be Course Designer. Deb McCarthy, whose back is prominently captured under the pagoda on the cover of this Prize List, returns as our able announcer and Judy Anderson is absolutely essential as Show Secretary. We are told that Matt Ferro, our elegant Ringmaster, will be sporting a new ‘pink’ coat. The artwork this year will be by Rita Williams. You will love it!
We are adding a new Championship for Very Young Junior Drivers, those 12 and 13 years of age who may not drive The Marathon or Obstacles…so bring on your youngsters. We’ll be sure they have a good time.
There are some changes in Rules and Regs as per the new American Driving Society’s Rulebook - nothing very drastic. Some of it is just verbage. If you have any questions, we’ll try to help.
The Welcoming Reception dinner will once again be enjoyed on Friday night. An Old Fashioned Cookout with live music by Route 66 (the whole band this year) will keep us all fat and happy on Saturday night.
Our vendors will return to Market Lane, and the Silent Auction will once again benefit the therapeutic riding program From The Ground Up. Plans for lunch breaks and The Kids’ Paddock have not yet been finalized…keep checking Lorenzo’s website, www.lorenzodriving.com.
We can’t wait!!
